Alumni Weekend and Super Bowl in Dallas

Bobby has been staying busy in Kansas City.  On the 26th of December, it was Alumni Weekend, as the Chiefs hosted alumni from all teams and entertained them for the Raiders game.  Several members of the Super Bowl IV championship team and other teams he played on were in attendance.  Willie Lanier made a special trip from Virginia and the two found time to connect.  It's a special weekend the Chiefs host each season and the players look forward to seeing each other.

The following weekend the Chiefs hosted their first playoff game since 1993.  While the game did not go the way the team had hoped, Bobby's prediction that the team would win ten came true as the young talent and great coaches came together and surpassed what many experts believed possible.  The playoff experience is important for young teams and they will learn to come together and take it to the next level in the future.

In two weeks, Bobby heads down for the Super Bowl in Dallas.  Each year he participates in the Taste of the NFL, the skeet shooting tournament and various other events.  We will keep you posted for specific events.

Bobby had the good fortune to have his jersey retired by the University of Minnesota, joining Bruce Smith, Bronko Nagurski, Sandy Stephens and Paul Giel as the only Golden Gophers to have that honor.  Bobby was able to have his kids and grandchildren accompany him for the event.

In November, Bobby was the guest of good friend, Ferguson Jenkins, in Arizona where he participated in a Hall of Fame baseball game for charity.  Ozzie Smith, Gaylord Perry, Meadowlark Lemon and other sports legends were also in attendance.  Bobby's November travels also took him to Miami, where he participated in NFL Hall of Fame player Ted Hendrick's celebrity event.

On December 4, Bobby joins good friend and fellow NFL Hall of Fame player, Larry Little for a celebrity golf event.  Also scheduled to appear include Paul Krause, Deacon Jones, Ted Hendricks, Leroy Kelly and Ken Houston.

As much as anyone who follows the Chiefs, Bobby is thrilled by the success the Chiefs have had this season.  He is looking forward to seeing how the season plays out.
