 George Brett the slugging third baseman for the Kansas City Royals was the American League batting champion in 3 different decades (1976,80,90) Brett was also named MVP in 1980 and led the Royals to a World Series title in 1985. George collected his 3000th hit with a single on Sept. 30, 1992. Brett retired after the 1993 season with career batting average of .305 scattering 3,154 hits and driving in 1595 runs.
